Last weekend at Bayside, we were thrilled to welcome back Chris Brown and the Parachute Band. If you weren’t here, you missed an amazing service! Parachute Band, who came to us from New Zealand by way of their European tour, led us in a powerful time of worship. In addition to a few songs from their last album, they introduced us to several new songs, such as “Come To The River” and “Living Rain.”

While Parachute Band prepared our hearts for the message through music, Chris Brown expanded our understanding of Jonah in his sermon titled, “See Jonah…See Jonah Run.” Rather than the usual “Jonah was swallowed by a whale pop-up picture book,” he encouraged us to look at Jonah’s life in a new and applicable way. He challenged us to recognize that our lives “can get jacked up while we’re in the middle of confusion and we don’t know why.” In addition, Chris posed the question, “who’s hand is on the knob of the open door in your life?” If that wasn’t enough, he pushed us one step further and told us that we need to acknowledge “sometimes God sends a storm upon us to knock us into shape, all the while, we’re praying for God to calm the very storm that He has placed us in.”

If you’re ready to be challenged, check out the message from Chris (below), and see just what you missed, or enjoy it again for a second time!
