Wrapping up Rumors
What an incredible weekend! We’re all back now from the Shore Fall Retreat 2009: “Rumors.” Much thanks to Glenn Packiam for coming from Colorado to challenge our thoughts and our lives. Our time there was full of passionate worship of our Creator, and new relationships were built as we hung out around the camp and in Santa Cruz. We hope everyone is as excited as we are about the successes of this weekend! We’d love for you to post your thoughts and stories about the Fall Retreat below…

I absolutely loved the retreat. God really spoke to me about the feelings I had of always trying “to be good enough for God” as Glen put it. It really changed my perspective and I feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders after this weekend!
What an incredible weekend, it was so awesome to see God moving all weekend. Thank you everyone for coming and for all of the staff who did an incredible job with everything. God truly changed lives at Rumors and I am so blessed to be apart of God work. God Bless you all.

What a blessing!
At the retreat I was reminded not to be content with being comfortable but to look forward to the challenges in life that help me build and grow in my relationship with my Savior.
Big thanks to the staff and leaders who made the Rumors Retreat happen.
Wow! That’s the first thought that comes to my mind when I think about the weekend well-spent in Santa Cruz! I had originally planned to not go on the retreat since it was the weekend before my wedding, and then my younger sister really wanted me to be there with her so I went, knowing it would be a great bonding trip. Oh boy, did I get so much more out of it than just bonding! God put my heart at rest with the craziness of this past year with a sister getting married, unexpected family pregnancies, and truly not being attentive to God’s voice. This weekend, Jesus quieted everything and reassured me that I don’t have to take the weight of the world on my shoulders. He mostly prepared my heart for marriage. He gave me the desire to be intensely in love with Him and to give that love to my soon-to-be husband. The Lord spoke to me through so many people and I reignited friendships that have been stagnant for a while. Jesus blessed the Rumors retreat and I know He has big plans for The Shore!
Wow. This last retreat was one of the best yet! The speaker, location and activities were amazing. I feel so blessed to have a staff that works so hard to create an amazing time where lives were changed. Personally, it was a fantastic reminder not to define God as we would like him to be, but rather be inspired once again to delve in and let his word define everything that he is
Many blessings!
Hanging out during meals, talking with people in the coffee room, connecting with my small group girls…it all helped me to draw closer to the people at Shore. I walked away feeling very blessed to be part of what God is doing in the twenty-somethings of our area!
I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the weekend we all shared in Santa Cruise! I knew when I heard about this retreat that I was going, and how grateful I am to be able to go to what has become, to me, my very first Bayside retreat. I never knew so many wonderful people could be collected into one area and that we would all be like family. I met so many people and became close to so many more. And I want to thank God for all the blessings he has given us to unite in his name and be apart of something so simple, yet so special. Thank you staff for your hard work and persistence in making this a wonderful experience! My heart goes out to you for the love and compassion you show and possess and I hope I can return the favor.
God bless.
