The next 7 weeks at Bayside will be another adventure as we begin the remodeling of our Worship Center. We’re growing again and we’re anxious to add more room for you, your family and your friends. We’re also excited that we’ve discovered a way to add more seats while upgrading to new, more comfortable, theatre-style seating. So… get ready to say goodbye to the bleachers and say hello to more comfy seating!

Thanks to the generosity of folks like you, our Whatever It Takes Compassion First Campaign has raised the funds to finish the project this summer. Our goal is to have the upgrades completed by the weekend of September 15 & 16!

The Facts…

Construction begins July 23 (no more bleachers!).

Construction is scheduled to be complete by September 11.

We’ll have seating for 1600 in the Worship Center during construction (This will be in chairs on the floor, no more bleachers).

We’ll have one entrance/exit in the rear of the auditorium and one new temporary entrance/exit in the West Wing.

Our greatest impact will be noticed during the Sunday 9:45 & 11:00am services.

Tips to Navigate the Next 7 Weeks…

PRAY that the work will go smoothly and begin praying for everyone we’ll invite to fill our new seats.

And few people in history have lived out this grounded life of trusting Jesus in the face of culture’s clash like the one and only Luis Palau! Known as the “Billy Graham of the Latin world”, Luis has led crusades around the globe for 50 years, sharing the Good News message to over a billion people!
Bayside of Folsom and some of our key community partners are teaming up this Saturday, May 21 for “Folsom Serve Day.” We’ll have hundreds of volunteers serving at any one of 13 projects taking place in 9 locations (see below for descriptions). Our projects will include caring for the elderly, supporting local charities that feed families in need, maintaining school yards and facilities and ministering to inmates and their families. We’re expecting to have at least 200 volunteers serving with us! To kick things off, we’ll meet at the Folsom City Park at 403 Stafford Street in Folsom for a continental breakfast between 7:30 – 8:30am. After breakfast and preparation, we’ll head out to our projects and serve our community. See you there!

Intro to Bayside, a great way to get to know some of the people, ministries and events that make up Bayside! In just 7 short minutes, you’ll have a chance to meet some of our pastors and staff and learn about some easy next steps to get connected.

Teach a child to read and change a life! Many of us know how important literacy is to a young person’s future, yet the statistics on reading are dire. In California, 88% of fourth graders from low-income communities are reading below grade level. This puts these kids on the fast track to economic hardships, dropping out or ending up in prison. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Our first two information nights with the organization “Reading Partners” was a huge success! More than 300 people attended and there are another 400 eager to get involved. So, we’ll be hosting another information night in June. Check the “Events” section of the website at the end of the month for the next meeting. In the meantime, here’s what you might need to know…

- 45 minute sessions, once or twice a week
- Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm
- Starting in the fall

Tutoring Requirements:
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Commitment: Once per week for at least one semester (16 weeks)

Tutoring currently takes place on the campuses of 6 local schools:
- North Highlands – FC Joyce School
- Sacramento (Pocket) – Caroline Wenzel School
- Sacramento (Curtis Park) – Bret Harte SchooL
- Sacramento (Arden Arcade) – Thomas Edison School

Thank you for investing in the future of a child in our community!

Today, the Bayside Communications team is proud to release version 3.0 of the BaysideOnline.com website. It’s been almost 2 years since our last major release and we’re very excited to bring significant updates to almost all of the core website features.

Bayside 2.0′s life-cycle was an amazing thing to be a part of. We watched people find God for the first time, return to a relationship with Jesus Christ and connect with others who share their passion and utter reliance on the Good News.

To date, we have served more than 2.5 million pages to over 500,000 unique individuals. We’ve helped serve relevant teaching to a world in need through our, now huge, catalog of weekend service videos. We’ve signed up nearly 100,000 people for various Bayside Church events. We connected a remote village to a live Bayside Christmas service. I can’t wait to see what God does through Bayside 3.0.

In BaysideOnline.com 3.0 we’ve upgraded and redesigned . . . well, pretty much everything.

New front page with faster access to weekend videos, Bayside events and our growing social networks.

A completely rewritten events engine to help you connect quickly with what is going on at Bayside Church

Rewritten weekend service videos with a more convenient location of message notes, questions and photo highlights.

A weekend service video finder to help you quickly locate past messages.

A brand new small group finder with built-in sorting and filters that let you connect quicker and easier.

New page navigation structures help you scan large amounts of information efficiently.
…and dozens upon dozens of back-end improvements.

In only one weekend and one Wednesday, you brought in $170,000 for HELP JAPAN. Now that’s something to celebrate! We’ve been honored to be a part of this effort as the community has rallied together around this partnership between Mikuni Restaurant Group, Inc. and Bayside to assist the devastated country of Japan. All proceeds will go to World Vision and Covenant World Relief to support their efforts in Japan. The HELP JAPAN evening made national news as 100 volunteers, 900 attendees and more than a dozen restaurant partners took over our campus for an evening of food, entertainment, auctions and difference making. Together we’re truly making a difference and bringing hope.
