This course is designed to equip men and women who wish to serve as Chaplains for Bayside Church as well as those who wish to improve their care giving skills for other ministries. This involves learning how to come alongside Baysiders and provide them with basic care, support & encouragement during difficult times in their lives.
Please note: Completion of this class does not automatically qualify you to serve as a chaplain for Bayside Church. Additional requirements must be met for this ministry
No class will be held on Jan. 21 and Feb. 18.
This is an eight-week, certificate course open to Bayside attendees, small group leaders and the community.
This is a support ministry and will cover the following topics:
- Defining the role of a Chaplain
- Home & hospital visitation
- Prayer & anointing with oil
- Understanding grief
- Listening skills
- Self-care & stress management
- Next-step: using my gift
