OK, so you want to know the scoop about me? Well first of all, I need to set the record straight for those of you that are new. I’m Not married to the Senior Pastor, Ray Johnston. It seems people assume this sometimes, because we both have the same last name. And then it gets complicated when I’m seen holding hands with another guy, who happens to be my wonderful husband Doug!

Doug and I just celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary (yea!). And what’s even more amazing, is that Doug and I met when we were freshmen in high school, so we’ve been good friends for a really long time. We’ve have 3 wonderful boys, so life is always an adventure! Richie is 22 and finishing up his senior year in college. Kyle is 19, going to college, and is a Jr. High intern here at Bayside. Parker (whom I’ve promised not to call ‘my baby’ anymore), is 15 and a Soph. in High School.

While I love being a mom with boys, I also love doing ministry with women. You might say it’s “my outlet!” I grew up with 2 sisters, no brothers, so I’m used to doing the girl thing. So basically I have a split personality! On one side I love jet skiing, motorcycle riding (actually I ride a quad), and making big meals for a hungry boys! On the other hand, I love peace and quiet with a good thought provoking book, and long gabby lunches with girlfriends. Of course, I’m the happiest with a 2% grande latte’ in one hand, and a piece of chocolate in the other….Dark chocolate, I must add!

Doug and I have lived in the Roseville/Granite Bay area for 15 years, an out of the 4 different locations we’ve lived, this is our favorite! I love bumping into people in the community that I know from Bayside! So if you see me around town, don’t hesitate to stop me and say hi, even if I haven’t met you yet! And if you have chocolate, you’ll be my new best friend!

I am so thankful that I was invited to join the Women’s Ministry Team in 2001 because I have a heart for reaching out to women and providing a place for them to feel connected. My greatest joy is being a part of something that encourages women to develop a deeper friendship with God. I think this is partly because I grew up without having God as a part of my life, and it wasn’t until I was a young adult that I accepted Christ personally. After that everything changed for me and my greatest desire became wanting to share the gift of knowing God with others.

Believe it or not, before I got involved with ministry, I was a CPA! That’s how I met David, who I have been married to for 23 years. We both love the challenge of raising three great kids; Brian – in his third year at USC, Kevin – a senior and avid soccer player, and Stephanie – a sophomore with a full schedule of school & church activities. We also enjoy walking with our dogs, spending time in our yard and watching our children’s sporting events, including soccer, swimming and cross country. Our family lives in Penryn with our two dogs, Ozzy & Snowball.
