The Evangelical Alliance Mission

Japan

Why Japan?

Suicide is the leading cause of death among ages 15-39. 21,897 people took their own lives in 2016.

85% of teens wonder why they exist. 11% wish they had never been born.

There is one missionary for every 64,000 people.

Jeff & Kelly Pagaragan

The Pagaragans first started attending Bayside in 2007 and eventually helped launch the Video Cafe on the GB campus. Bayside has partnered with the Pagaragan family since 2010 when they first moved to Japan. Since 2017, Bayside has been sending teams to visit their ministry called The Neighborhood.

They have spent the past four years in Tokyo loving students simply by living life with them. God has given them a clear gifting in this type of hospitality evangelism and discipleship, and their passion for their student center called The Neighborhood. This is an expansion of the work God has already begun. This center is a place where students can relax in a warm and safe environment while building healthy and encouraging relationships. They come knowing that they will be poured into with a love that can only come from God.
