What is H.E.A.R.T. ?

Health Education Africa Resource Team (HEART) is a faith-based organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable HIV-positive single mothers and their children living in extreme poverty in Africa through disease prevention, education and economic strengthening, to promote physical, spiritual and emotional health. HEART is an orphan prevention program empowering the mothers to develop unique ideas for income generation as they take care of their households. 

Their vision is to empower the people of Africa to survive and to thrive beyond the HIV pandemic with strong values; Commitment to the Lordship of Jesus; Compassion as they serve with respect and fairness to all regardless of their culture and religion; Integrity in all they do by embracing Christian ethics; Excellence in their work; Unity within HEART and their partners.

Vickie is a great local friend to Bayside and has made it possible to send many Bayside teams to Kenya every year. HEART also has countless programs and projects that offer education and mentoring to the vulnerable throughout rural Kenya.
