Jobs at Bayside Church

Calling all Pioneers

We are looking for humble, flexible, team-oriented pioneers to help build a church for people who don't like church.

Need a little background?

Pastor Ray Johnston planted Bayside in 1995, and has led the church to become one of the largest, fastest growing, and healthiest churches in the country. Bayside is the largest church in the Sacramento metropolitan area and is affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church. The church has grown to over 19,000 with much of the growth happening in the past few years. Every weekend there are 22 services to choose from at seven campuses (and one more to launch soon!). The Granite Bay campus is the “original” site, and is located in Roseville, California, which also hosts a video café.

There are scores of ministries and programs for all ages in all phases of life, but it all comes back to their focus on just three priorities: Reach Wide, Grow Deep, and Unleash Compassion. Everything Bayside does can be connected to one of these three values.

The Bayside culture is engaging, fast-paced, and yet full of oxymorons: there is a strong vision and leader, and yet a culture of humility and mutual submission. It is one of the fastest growing churches in the country, and yet they are the first to admit they haven’t figured it all out. They are organized and systematic in some ways, yet organic in others. There is a real sense of strategy and intentionality, and an entrepreneurial vibe of “building the plane while flying.”

Health

Health

Health is more important than growth.

Nothing great happens through you until it happens in you! The closer you get to the core of a church – the healthier it should be! The best gift we ever give our ministries is spiritual and relational health. Therefore, we are committed to daily bible study and prayer, weekly experiencing God in worship and living with accountable relationships in a small group. We are committed to remembering that the most important person you will ever lead is –- yourself!

Joy

Joy

We serve the Lord with gladness.

Being spiritual doesn’t mean being miserable! Traditionally, church and fun don’t go hand in hand. The next generation will be influenced by Christians who are vibrant, inspirational, confident and joyful. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured. Let’s take God seriously, but not take ourselves too seriously. Lighten up! The joy of the Lord is still our strength.

Passion

Passion

We dig holes in roofs.

Just like the friends of the paralyzed man dug a hole in a roof to get their friend to Jesus – we will go to great lengths to get people in front of Jesus. Why do we have the weekend experience and culture we have? We are digging a hole in the roof. We are helping people see Jesus who might not see Him any other way. Lack of creativity is really just a lack of effort. We are called to be fishers of people! Let’s stay committed to putting more hooks in the water!
