FAQ

These are experts in the security field in both the US and Mexico that we have been working with for decades to help keep our teams safe. We are not providing additional details about them given the sensitivity of their roles.

They said based on growing instability in the region, they strongly recommended we not send groups to Mexico at this time.  They did not provide additional details. We have always been clear that the safety and security of our students, volunteers and staff are our top priority and if there were any reasons for concern, we would cancel the trip.

Regarding your registration, we want to make the next steps as clear and flexible as possible for your family. You’ll be able to choose from the following options:

  1. Receive a full refund
  2. Transfer your registration to the Mexicali 2027 trip
  3. Apply the funds toward Summer Camp this year
  4. Donate your registration to support ongoing Mexicali ministry efforts

To let us know which option you’d like to choose, CLICK HERE. Our team will process each response as quickly as possible and follow up with any additional details needed.

Pick up your passport in the Bayside Granite Bay Courtyard (5:30-7pm) on Friday, March 27, during Flexicali Revival Night.

We can’t speak for other churches, but Bayside was planning to send ~1,200 students, volunteers and staff. We believe the size and scope of our trip requires extra care and evaluation. Make no mistake, we did not make this decision lightly. We are very disappointed, but believe it is the right and responsible choice.

We are giving participants options for a full refund or to apply the funds toward next year’s trip or this year’s Summer Camp. For donations to buy materials to build homes, our plan is to send adult construction teams down to build those homes when it is safe to do so.

We are making plans to serve locally, gather, and worship. Stay tuned for more information.

We are disappointed about cancelling the trip, but especially for our seniors. We are making plans for a senior only activity during Holy Week.  Stay tuned for more information.

There is no question they will be as disappointed as we are, especially the children who look forward to this week all year. That said, we do send teams to Mexico throughout the year to minister to our partner churches. We will be going as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

If you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to our Mexico Team by email.
